CCA Awards

The purpose of the CCA Awards Program is to recognize and honor contributions to the association and the compensation profession. Recipients will be recognized at the Annual Meeting (verbally and in print), in the CCA Update, and on the CCA web site. Additionally, CCA may notify employers about their employees receiving awards, and post news releases in appropriate Chicago and Chicago Suburb-based publications.

Compensation Professional of the Year Award

This award is presented at the Annual Meeting to a CCA member in recognition of his or her professional accomplishments in the field of compensation. Each year, the membership will be solicited to offer nominations. Additionally, CCA may proactively solicit nominations. There would be one recipient selected for this award. The recipient will be recognized at the Annual Meeting with an appropriate recognition award, as well as a $100 American Express Gift Card. The award need not be presented each year.

It is not an award to recognize participation in CCA. Rather, the criteria encompass excellence in the Compensation profession. CCA recognizes the World@Work Career Excellence Model™ as the right criteria for identifying the CCA Compensation Professional of the Year Award recipient:

  • Technical Mastery
  • Analytical Skills and Attention to Detail
  • Strategic Business Understanding
  • Communication and Connection
  • Adaptability and Flexibility
  • Passion and Proactivity
  • Continuous Learning
  • Development Support System

CCA's Compensation Professional of the Year Award was approved by the Board of Directors at its April 2016 meeting. Select this link to access the online nomination form. The deadline for consideration of the award in 2017 is March 15, 2017.

Member Dedication Award

This award is presented at the Annual Meeting to recognize members who have been members of CCA for 15 continuous years. When a member reaches 15 years of continuous membership, he or she will be recognized at the Annual Meeting with an appropriate recognition award. Additionally, those members who have been with CCA more than 15 consecutive years will be listed and asked to stand and be recognized by the audience. The award need not be presented each year.

President’s Award

This award is presented at the Annual Meeting to recognize one or two current members who have offered significant volunteer service to the organization in the past year. The CCA president will ask Board members each year to provide him or her with the names and contributions of individuals whom they feel deserve to be considered for this recognition. Nominations are due by March 15 each year. The president will then review and develop a short-list of candidates that he or she will discuss with the Board at its April meeting, where a recommendation on presenting the award(s) will be made and approved by the Board. Current members of the CCA Board of Directors are not eligible to receive this award. The award need not be presented each year.
