Text Messages for Executive Compensation Professionals is a half-day event sponsored by CCA. The intent is to stimulate your thinking and prepare you for an energized start to the upcoming executive compensation decision making cycle. Subject matter experts from our Gold and Platinum Sponsors will discuss a series of hot topics which are expected to influence the shape and direction of executive compensation in the year ahead. Whether your employer is publicly-traded or privately held, the symposium will provide you with the most recent data and insights regarding executive compensation levels and design trends, regulatory and legislative activities, and executive pay governance issues. Among the “text messages” to be discussed are the following:

The format this year will be a short introductory presentation on each topic by one of the experts followed by an open discussion/debate by the panelists. Panelist will provide copies of their introductory presentations as well as other relevant handouts to enhance your understanding of the topic.

The presenters for this Symposium are: Dana Martin, Hay Group; Marshall Scott, Towers Watson; Shane Meredith, Meridian Consultants; and Myrna Hellerman, Sibson Consulting.
Dana Martin is a consultant with the Chicago office of Hay Group. Dana partners with clients to provide customized compensation solutions. Dana works with clients to align employee compensation with key organizational goals creating balanced plans that recognize the needs of the employee and the organization. Dana received his Masters of Business Administration from the University of Minnesota’s Carlson School of Business with concentrations in Finance and Strategy. He received his Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Michigan with concentrations in Organizational Studies and Psychology.
Marshall Scott is a Director in the executive compensation practice of Towers Watson. He leads the executive compensation practice in the Chicago office. Marshall works predominantly with boards of directors on matters relating to compensation and governance. His clients include both larger private and publicly-traded companies. Much of his work is consistent with his background as a partner in a major Chicago-based law firm, where his practice included federal taxation, corporate structuring, transactions and compensation design and compliance. Marshall’s experience includes assignments in general business, manufacturing, financial services, technology, retail, and healthcare..
Shane Meredith, Meridian Consultants, has over 10 years of professional experience in a broad range of compensation, economic and strategy consulting. Her work in executive compensation focuses on the design of incentive arrangements including equity-based long-term incentives. She also works with executives and boards to develop pay-for-performance measurement systems, compensation principles and governance best practices. Shane received her M.B.A. from the University Of Chicago Booth School Of Business and her B.A. in Economics from Cornell University. She is a licensed CPA in Illinois and a Certified Equity Professional.
Myrna Hellerman is Senior Vice President/Midwest Region Leader of Sibson Consulting, a Division of Segal. Ms. Hellerman advises management and boards in the design and implementation of innovative, effective, and sustainable people and reward strategies that lead to improved business results. Ms. Hellerman has particular expertise in the areas of executive compensation, governance, and the leadership challenges that are precipitated by financial transactions. She frequently serves boards and compensation committees as an independent advisor. Ms. Hellerman has served as an elected member of the Board of Directors of The Segal Group and currently serves as Sibson's Midwest Regional Leader. Ms. Hellerman received an MBA from the University of Chicago, and an MA and a PhD from Stanford University. She graduated Phi Beta Kappa from the University of Michigan, was a Fulbright scholar in Peru, and completed academic studies in Mexico and Argentina. Ms. Hellerman is a Certified Compensation Professional (CCP).
