This event will provide attendees with a better understanding of the types of salary structures, as well as the designs and common practices, used by employers today. The presentation will address both tactical and strategic components of salary structure design and administration. After this presentation, participants will be able to: (1) Understand the different types of salary structures and their characteristics; (2) Identify the type and design features of a salary structure that best meets their needs; and (3) Enhance their knowledge of salary structure tools and technology options.
The presentation will focus on:
- The four main types of salary structures used by organizations today
- Factors that need to be considered when selecting a salary structure, determining competitive positioning, and updating the structure
- Current practices involving the use of salary structure tools and technology
- Results from the 2012 Survey of Salary Salary Structure Policies and Practices conducted by WorldatWork and Deloitte

The presenters for this event are: Gregory Stoskopf, CCP, Deloitte Consulting LLP; Sheila C. Sever, CCP, Deloitte Consulting LLP; and Christine Robovsky, CCP, Deloitte Consulting LLP.
Gregory Stoskopf, CCP is a director at Deloitte Consulting LLP, where he leads the Northeast Compensation Practice. His consulting experience is focused on the design and implementation of strategic broad-based performance and reward systems. He has over 25 years of experience and is an author and frequent speaker on talent management, compensation, performance management and total rewards topics. Greg is a member of the Society for Industrial and Organizational Psychology and WorldatWork. He holds a bachelor’s degree from Baker University and a master’s degree in Organizational Psychology from the University of Kansas.
Sheila C. Sever, CCP is a manager in Deloitte Consulting LLP’s Compensation Strategies practice. She has more than 20 years of consulting and corporate experience working with a wide range of clients in hospitality, health care, financial services, pharmaceuticals, energy, manufacturing, consumer products and nonprofits. She advises clients on various aspects of executive, broad-based employee and sales force compensation. She has over 20 years of experience and is an author and frequent speaker on compensation and total rewards topics. Sheila holds a bachelor’s degree in Business Education from Texas A&M and received WorldatWork’s Lifetime Achievement Award.
Christine K. Robovsky, CCP, is a specialist master in Deloitte Consulting LLP’s Compensation Strategies practice. She has thirteen years of compensation consulting experience advising for-profit and not-for-profit U.S. and international companies from a variety of industries on executive, broad-based, and non-employee director compensation issues. Christine is a member of WorldatWork and holds a bachelor’s degree from the University of Northern Iowa and a master’s degree in Human Resources & Industrial Relations from the University of Minnesota.
