Who We Are

Vision

The Chicago Compensation Association (CCA) is an independent professional association committed to providing leadership in the education and development of compensation professionals in the Chicago metropolitan area. The CCA advances the body of knowledge of the total compensation field through educational seminars, member forums, a multi-featured website, access to publications, networking opportunities and related activities and services. The Association pursues its mission through the support and effort of individual members, their employers and other related groups.

About CCA

Founded in 1976, CCA is affiliated with WorldatWork, an alliance of independent compensation, benefits and human resources organizations representing professionals globally.

Our members represent a broad and diverse cross-section of Chicago area employers, from Fortune 500 international public companies to small private employers as well as not for profit organizations,  and including many leading consulting firms in the human resources market.  Members range in professional experience from analysts to vice presidents in primarily compensation and compensation & benefits roles, but also including many human resource generalists.

CCA is a volunteer led organization with a board of directors which meets monthly to plan and develop programming, provide support to the various sub-committees, and ensure that activities meet the Association's objectives and long-range plans. As a local association, CCA strives to complement the activities provided by other professional associations, while developing specific programs and events to meet the identified needs of its membership.

Throughout the year, CCA sponsors presentations and seminars featuring local and national subject matter experts from consulting and industry. These presentations address the needs of the membership for answers to the issues facing compensation professionals in their own organizations as well as the need to keep abreast of current trends. We work to maintain relationships with many leading consulting companies and large employers in the Chicago area in order to provide our members with the most current resources and professional information in our field.

CCA also regularly holds informal "roundtable" sessions to facilitate discussions among compensation professionals. These sessions are an opportunity to meet with fellow practitioners to share ideas and solutions to various pay issues facing our organizations today.

Meeting sites vary between downtown and suburban locations. Meeting topics cover a wide range of issues facing compensation professionals today including the areas of variable pay, executive pay, alternative rewards, and legislation. For selected seminar meetings currency certification points are granted by WorldAtWork to our members who hold the Certified Compensation Professional (CCP) designation.
